Job Description
We are looking for compassionate Bank Support Workers to join our services. In this role, you will focus on providing person-centred care, supporting adults to live their lives according to their own choices, preferences, and goals. You will help individuals build confidence, develop skills, make decisions, and enjoy fulfilling lives, always placing the person at the heart of their care. Shifts are flexible and may include days, evenings, weekends, nights, and sleep-ins.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver care and support that is person-centred, respecting each individual’s preferences, needs, and goals.
  • Support service users in daily activities with dignity, respect, and encouragement.
  • Promote independence, inclusion, and empowerment, enabling people to make informed choices and take controlled risks.
  • Assist individuals to achieve their personal aims and ambitions, helping them grow and develop skills.
  • Encourage participation in meaningful activities, hobbies, and community life.
  • Support health and wellbeing needs, including attending appointments and monitoring general health.
  • Assist with household tasks while maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
  • Handle medication safely and accurately, following care plans and organisational policies.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records, including daily notes, incident forms, and medication records.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • Work flexibly according to service needs, including nights, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Follow organisational policies, safeguarding procedures, and mandatory training requirements.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Requirements:
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training, or willingness to complete prior to starting.
  • Experience of supporting people in health, social care, or community settings.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, nights, and sleep-ins.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic IT and record-keeping skills.
  • Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Emergency First Aid at Work (Level 3).
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs or challenging behaviours.
  • Anti-Ligature Training
  • Previous experience in specialist or complex care services.
