Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Bank Support Worker to join our Supported Living Service in:
Stoke on Trent. You will support adults with a range of needs to live as independently as possible, providing person-centred care that promotes dignity, safety, and emotional wellbeing. This role involves helping individuals with personal care, daily living tasks, and community engagement, making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safe, person-centred care in line with individual support plans.
  • Provide personal and practical support with daily living tasks (e.g. personal care, cooking, cleaning, shopping, budgeting) while maintaining dignity and encouraging independence.
  • Support individuals with their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing, including access to community activities, appointments, and social events.
  • Accurately record support, observations, and incidents using electronic care records.
  • Handle medication safely and accurately, following care plans and organisational policies.
  • Promote independence, inclusion, and empowerment, enabling people to make informed choices and take controlled risks.
  • Uphold safeguarding principles and follow all relevant policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
Essential Skills, Experience & Requirements:
  • Experience supporting adults in health, social care, or community settings.
  • Basic understanding of safeguarding, person-centred care, and health & safety.
  • Care Certificate (completed or willingness to complete upon appointment).
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Legal right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship).
  • Competent in providing personal care and supporting daily living tasks.
Desirable Qualifications and Training:
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Emergency First Aid at Work Level 3.
  • Previous experience in supported living or residential care settings.
